Downloading the iOS Live & Breaking News app

You can download The Epoch Times news app for free from the App Store on your iOS device. The Epoch Times news app is free to download and install and includes some free content. For unlimited access, you can purchase a Digital Access subscription. For more information, visit Digital Subscriptions.

To use your app digital subscription on other platforms, create an Epoch Times account through the iOS app and then log in on other devices using this account credential. For more instructions, visit Create Account and Log in on all your devices.

If you purchase a Digital Access subscription to The Epoch Times through Apple, then you can manage your subscription (change or cancel your subscription) through the App Store.

The Epoch Times iOS news app works on any iOS device that supports iOS 13.0 or later.

Using The Epoch Times iOS News app

Access Account Management

To access Account Management, tap the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Create Account for Cross-platform Login

Go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Create Account button.

Login

Go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Log In button.

Change Display Name

To change the name that will be displayed when leaving comments, tap the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to access Account Management, tap Edit to change the Full Name. Tap Save to save the change.

Change password

Go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Change Password. Enter your new password and click Submit.

Refresh your news feed

Content will be updated automatically in the Epoch Times News app. To update your news feed manually, pull down the main screen and release.

Search Articles

Tap the Search icon on the top right-hand corner. Type the word or phrase in the search bar and then tap Done. Search results will appear. You can tap any title to view the full article.

Save Articles

Open the article you’d like to save while logged in to your The Epoch Times account. Then, tap the Save icon (Save_Icon.png) located in the top right-hand corner of the screen to add the article to your Saved Article list. To remove an article, tap the Save icon again.

Share Articles

To share an article, tap the Share icon on the bottom of the article.

Read or Leave Comments

Tap the Comment icon (Comment_Icon.png) located on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to read all comments and leave your own comment.

Note: The account email needs to be verified in order to leave comments. To verify the account email, tap the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and tap Verify Email. Then check the confirmation email to verify your account email.

Change Font Size

Tap the Font icon (Font_Icon.png) located in the navigation bar on the top of the screen to change the font size.

Enable Notifications

To adjust your notification settings, go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Notifications and toggle to select the specific notifications you’d like to receive.

Enable Dark Mode

To adjust your background color, go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Dark Mode and toggle to select the mode you want.

Enable Video Autoplay

To adjust your video autoplay setting, go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Video Autoplay and toggle to select the setting you want.

Delete Cache

To delete all cached items, go to Account Management by tapping the person icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. From there, tap Delete Cache and select OK.

1. Q. What is the difference between subscribing to The Epoch Times through the Epoch Times iOS News app versus subscribing through The Epoch Times website?

A. If you subscribed to The Epoch Times using the iOS News app, then your subscription, including payments, is entirely managed by the Apple App Store. If you subscribed to The Epoch Times through the website, then The Epoch Times manages your subscription.

2. Q. I already have an Epoch Times subscription; do I have to subscribe through the Epoch Times iOS News app again to use the News app?

A. No, you do not need to subscribe again. Having a print or digital-only subscription allows you to log into the Epoch Times iOS News app by using the same login information associated with your print or digital subscription*. For login instructions, click HERE.

* All print subscribers receive complimentary full digital access. However, if you did not provide an email when you subscribed, you will have to contact our customer care to set up your digital account. Click HERE for customer care contact information.

** If you subscribed through The Epoch Times website, you can log into the app with the email associated with your subscription. However, you cannot manage your account on the app. Please log into TheEpochTimes.com to manage your subscription account through the Customer Self Service Portal.

3. Q. I subscribed through the Epoch Times iOS News app; do I have access to the Epoch Times website TheEpochTimes.com?

A. Yes. You just need to create an Epoch Times account through the iOS News app to log into the Epoch Times website. Click HERE for how to create the account.

4. Q. Can I sign up for the print edition of the newspaper through the Epoch Times iOS News app?

A. Unfortunately, the iOS News app subscription is digital-only and does not include the print edition.

5. Q. Can I upgrade from the Epoch Times iOS News app subscription to print subscription so I can receive the print edition by mail?

A. Yes. Please contact customer care to upgrade your plan. You may also submit a request online HERE, Please provide us with your email, phone number, and the best time to call you. You will also need to attach a screenshot of the receipt from your Apple App Store subscription.

6. Q. I subscribed through the Epoch Times iOS News app. Can I share my subscription with my family?

A. Yes. You can share your subscription with family members in the same household. Simply create an Epoch Times account through the Epoch Times iOS News app and share the Epoch Times account with your family. You can login on multiple devices simultaneously.
